Fantastic wall clock made of solid wood, with the front side made of walnut wood. It is a clock made by prestigious brand Junghans in the 1920s. Junghans was founded in 1861 by Erhard Junghans and his brother-in-law, Jacob Zeller-Toller. In the beginning the companys name was Junghans-Tobler, but in a few years the association broke and in 1866 the firm only bore the name Junghans. In those days, the factory made around 72 clocks a week. During the 20th century till now, the company has passed through different phases and nowadays is still one of the most prestigious watchmaker firms in the world. This wonderful clock is a valuable antique and a great decorative piece too. It is made up of different walnut pieces, all of them beautifully varnished, in excellent condition. The decoration shows turned and carved pillars and trims, and at the top we can see a wooden figure depicting an eagle with its wing slightly open. Both the face and the pendulum are protected by glass and wooden doors that can be opened. The mechanism is in perfect working order: the clock chimes the hours and the quarters. The machinery is original and signed, showing the logo of the brand (a star with the word Junghans inside). Under the logo we can see the number 214, also engraved on the metal. The face bears elegant classic black numbers, and it is also decorated with a round brass plate which bears a modernist engraved design. The beautiful brass pendulum is very remarkable and is also decorated with a modernist design in the shape of a planet. As well as being a lovely article, this clock works wonderfully and it is a luxury piece which will stand out on the wall of the most elegant house. Measurements: 400 mm width x 1000 mm height.
