This antique wall clock, highly remarkable because of the many carved details that embellish it, was made in Germany in 1900. In spite of its ancient age, the clock preserves all its original pieces and parts. It has carefully restored to recover its shine and beauty, but always taking care of preserving its antique quality. The movement has also been revised, cleaned and adjusted so the clock works fine and chimes the hours and the halves. The box is made of different kinds of woods, carved and veneers, so the combination of decorative details makes up a lovely and original whole. In the box, the crowning piece draws powerfully our attention with its decoration of carved animals. The clock is crowned by a graceful figure of a horse that lifts its front legs and poses them on a series of light volutes simulating the waves of a river. It is a beautiful sculptural piece that provides the serious clock with a charming touch. Under the sculpture, the top of the clock is decorated with a carved lions face in the center. The columns that flank the glass door are also finely carved and lathed so they match the top and bottom decorations. The rest of the box is delicately covered with mahogany veneer and the back piece is especially beautiful: four mahogany veneers cover the plank so they make a symmetrical diamond design. In front of this plank, the clocks ochre face and the polished brass pendulum bob are finely disposed and make up a balanced tonal harmony. All this wonderful design is embellished by the shiny French polished that has been properly restored so the clock shines out with its own light. This impressive wooden wall clock is a classic piece, very antique and whose aristocratic presence is bound to stand out in a stylish home.Measurements: Width: 425 mm.
