Striking wall clock with box made of walnut wood, chiming every hour and half hour, varnished and decorated with carved wood details. This lovely clock was made in Vienna in 1880. Its great condition is very remarkable, especially if we consider that this is an antique clock, dating from the end of the 19th century. The box is made of solid walnut wood, with a lovely golden brown color typical of this kind of wood. The French polish that protects the surface highlights its color and provides it with a warm glow too. The clock works perfectly and the machinery is in great condition. All parts are original. It chimes the hours and half hours with a neat and clear sound. This is a very special clock: its beautiful face has a second hand and it also keeps the original winding crank. The black iron hands have filigree-shaped pointers and are also in very good condition. The clock has a two-weight system; both weights are made of golden brass and have lovely decorated pulleys and connections. The wooden box is also very well preserved. The clock has a classical carved trim on top, composed of a vegetal motive flanked by two symmetrical volutes. In the center there is a pyramidal peak. On both sides of the front part there are two slim and stylized pillars, also carved on the wood and topped with Corinthian capitals. The bottom of the box is decorated with a black painted rectangle, which serves as a background for the weights and the pendulum. In essence, this clock is a real compendium of beautiful details that turn it into an exclusive antique and a magnificent decorative item. Measurements: 1280 mm height x 445 mm width x 16 mm depth.
