Very antique Spanish silver chalice made between the 18th and 19th centuries (circa 1700), in very good condition. This amazing silver piece, more than 300 years old, stands out for its simple and timeless design. Though it bears no hallmarks, the quality of the metal and the ancient age and origin of the chalice are guaranteed in writing. In those days, Spanish silver pieces were taxable; many of them did not have hallmarks in order to avoid paying taxes. The chalice has circular foot, stem with nodes of different shapes, white silver subcup and gilt-silver cup, all of them with no engraved or embossed decoration at all. The contrast between the white silver and the gilt-silver cup provides the design with a remarkable beauty, being the finishing touch for a first-class item. This very antique Spanish silver chalice is worthy to belong to a priest who appreciates and respects unique art pieces. Dimensions: Foots Width: 5.31 in / 13.5 cm. Cups Width: 3.54 in / 9 cm.
