Gorgeous antique triptych made of wood and embossed silver, in very good condition. This delicate piece is more than one hundred years old and was made in the early 20th century (circa 1900). It is a mantel triptych, a very decorative and well-preserved piece. It is composed of a base that supports the triptych itself, crowned in its turn by a pointed arch-shaped piece. The structure is made of solid wood, decorated with embossed silver plates that depict different scenes of the life of Jesus Christ. The base shows three silver plates with their respective scenes. The plates are all in good condition and stand out because of the many details that appear in them. There are a lot of characters in all of them, with detailed clothes and buildings. The scenes depict scenes of the life of Jesus: his triumphal arrival in Jerusalem as the Messiah, riding a donkey; the presentation of the Child to the Wise Men, the Resurrection we can also see different scenes of the Calvary and the Judgment. The scene that crowns the triptych depicts the Crucifixion on the Mount of Olives. Under this piece, the triptych has two wings connected to the main structure by hinges. When the wings open, in their inner sides we discover more silver scenes from the New Testament. Inside the triptych there are four scenes more that depict the moments before the Crucifixion. The triptych is in general good condition and is a decorative and ancient piece. This amazing silver and wooden triptych will shine on an elegant shelf or on a hardwood sideboard.
