Beautiful antique gold-plated solid-silver ciborium made in France in the 19th century, in excellent condition and with an imposing presence. This ciborium bears a hand-engraved inscription inside the base: EX DONO AB + GT MAY 1918. This detail suggest that it could have been donated to a church. At the cups edge and the base we can also see the hallmark that identifies antique French silver pieces and the silversmiths mark with his initials. The ciborium has an ample circular base with a lean silver embossed band and a border of engraved crosses. The band is composed of connected volutes and is a simple and elegant detail. We can see it in the main node, the sub-cup and the lid too. The combination of lean and gold-plated silver provides this piece with interest and beauty, creating a sober and very special design. This antique gold-plated solid-silver ciborium is an exclusive item, so beautiful and more than one hundred years old. A very special piece for any collector or lover of religious silverworks.
