Amazing antique gold-plated solid-silver ciborium, coming from France and made in the 19th century. This ciborium is a magnificent piece, big in size and with a charming and beautiful handmade decoration. The silver is covered by symbols related to the Eucharist: the embossed motifs depict wheat stalks and bunches of grapes, symbols of the Bread and the Wine. The rest of the decoration is composed of lines, dots and borders whose only duty is to enhance and embellish the reliefs. The whole piece looks balanced and harmonious, boasting a design that combines stateliness and simplicity in the right doses. The ciboriums base is shaped as a flower and shows the stated motifs, which can also be seen at the sub-cup, the main node and the lid. This piece is crowned by a delicate silver cross that acts as a handle too. All the ciboriums parts bear their corresponding hallmarks, which testify for the articles quality, ancient age and origin.
