Beautiful antique gold-plated silver monstrance, complete and made in Paris, France circa 1820. This magnificent piece preserves all its parts and pieces; the only one which is not original is the lunette, included in the late 19th century. This piece was clearly adapted to the monstrance; today it fits perfectly and matches finely the original design. The monstrance has a square-shaped base with curved legs and is decorated with the classic symbols that usually adorn these pieces: the Lamb of God and the Eye of Providence, both embossed by hand. The decoration includes three classic Christian symbols: the wheat stalks, the bunches of grapes and the reeds. The sunburst that frames the lunette is composed of sunrays and clouds and is crowned by a stylized cross. The monstrance bears hallmarks that identify silver pieces made in Paris circa 1820. The storing case is original from the time and closes perfectly. Superb and greatly-preserved, this antique gold-plated silver monstrance will shine in any collection of religious silverwork as the amazing piece it really is. Dimensions: Bases Width: 5.51 in / 14 cm. Height: 18.11 in / 46 cm. Sunbursts Width: 8.27 in / 21 cm.
