Antique silver and metal chalice with paten, made in France in the 19th century and entirely original from the time. The chalice is composed of a silvery metal foot, a metal stem and a silver cup with inner gilt finish. The foot is ample and circular in shape, and is decorated with a basic hand-engraved punctured design. The design includes a radiant cross at the front and schematic motifs all over the surface, depicting wheat stalks, flowers and long leaves. The motifs are somewhat worn, but can still be perfectly appreciated to the naked eye. The stem has a main node and a secondary one; the metal is shiny and even, with no decoration at all. The cup is even too and boast a stylish shape. The paten which comes with the chalice is adorned with an embossed Crismon; it bears no hallmarks, so it is probably made of low-proportion silver. Simple, sober and elegant, this antique silver and metal chalice with paten is an original piece, very special too. Dimensions: Chalice: Foots Width: 4.5 in / 11.5 cm. Cups Width: 3.3 in / 8.3 cm. Weight: 487 g. Paten: Diameter: 4.3 in / 11 cm. Weight: 106 g.
