Antique gilt-metal church bookstand with enamels, made in France circa 1900 and finely preserved. The bookstand boasts a great design, compact and spacious. Its top can be lifted and act as a stand to hold the Gospels and the Holy Scriptures during the mass. It shows a fine metal latticework in great condition. The cylindrical corners show a pattern of interlaced almond-shaped pieces, while the sides are composed of complicated embossed flowers, scrolls and baroque decorative element. The front side has a circular enamel medallion with an image of Jesus Christ showing his Sacred Heart. On both sides, the corners bear two identical enamels with the image of the Lamb of God. All the sides are adorned with craved blue and fuchsia crystals. The lid is supported by a gilt-metal rod and bears the engraved inscription IHS, the acronym of Jesus Christ. Attractive and well preserved, this antique gilt-metal church bookstand with enamels is bound to keep of taking part in the most special liturgical celebrations. Dimensions: Width: 12.2 in / 31 cm.
