Outstanding gilt-silver cruets with enamels made in France in the 19th century, with a lovely design. The cruets are made of gilt solid silver and carved glass, and are adorned with enameled medallions with images of the Four Evangelists and some Apostles. The Evangelists can be seen at the tray, while each cruet bears the images of two Apostles. In one of them, the enamels show signs of having been restored. The design of this set is as delicate as attractive, with beautiful silver openwork pieces depicting vines and bunches of grapes. One of the cruets lids bears hallmarks which testify for the silvers quality and origin. Though the other cruet has no hallmarks, we can ensure that the set is completely made of 100% gilt-silver. These beautiful antique gilt-silver cruets with enamels will really shine on a stately sideboard, being also the perfect accessory for the celebration of Eucharist.
