Antique gilt-metal ciborium, big in size and in good condition. This fine piece was made probably in France in the 19th century and shows a sober and discreet beauty. The cup is made of silver though it has no hallmarks. The rest of the ciborium is made of gilt metal and is decorated with neo-gothic motifs. The foot is shaped as a six-petal flower, each one adorned with a symmetrical leave and small bunches of grapes. The cylindrical stem has two nodes, a main and a secondary one: they are both decorated with small geometrical engravings. The subcup is a really attractive part, with a fine openwork structure and bearing the same decoration as the foot. This decoration can also be seen at the lid, crowned by a stylized Latin cross that acts as a handle to remove it. This antique gilt-metal ciborium, big in size and finely preserved, will be the best present for a priest with a taste for exclusive pieces. Dimensions: Foots Width: 6 in / 15.3 cm. Cups Width: 4.33 in / 11 cm. Height: 11.61 in / 29.5 cm.
