Amazing Eucharistic Set with Silver Enameled Chalice and Cruets. France, 1900

Amazing Eucharistic set with silver enameled chalice and cruets, complete, made in France circa 1900 and truly beautiful. All the pieces are original from the time and come in their original storing case, finely preserved. The gilt-silver chalice bears hallmarks in different parts and shows a gorgeous neo-gothic design. It is decorated with fine enamels at the foot, the node and the subcup which stand out on the shiny silver and remain in good condition. We can see six enamels at the foot, six at the node and three at the subcup. All of them depict colorful geometrical floral motifs. The subcup is beautifully carved in an openwork design. At the cups edge we find the French silver hallmark and the silversmiths mark; they can also be seen at the chalices foot. The paten which comes with the chalice is made of gilt-silver and bears its corresponding hallmarks too. It is decorated with a magnificent central hand-engraved image depiction the Lamb of God carrying a flag, beautifully made and perfectly preserved. The set includes two brass-and-glass cruets with its brass tray and a brass bell used to mark the height of the Consecration act. The storing case is made of black-leather-covered wood, with red-felt inner lining and brass lock, ironwork and handle. The lock is in working order and comes with the original key.
