Gorgeous big-sized ciborium, 100% silver, with Chevron hallmark and made in France in the 19th century. This amazing piece is truly remarkable for its big size, quality and attractive design, classic and timeless. The ciborium has hallmarks at the foot, the cup and the lid, among them the one corresponding to the French goldsmith Henri Chevron (active during the last third of the 19th century). It has an ample lobed foot which gets narrower at the stem, cylindrical and with two nodes (main and secondary). The silver cup is supported by a fine openwork subcup, connected to the stem by a group of symmetrical lanceolate leaves. The lid shows the same decoration and is crowned by a delicate gilt-silver cross. The whole piece is adorned with embossed and engraved wheat stalks, symbolizing the Bread of the Eucharist. This gorgeous big-sized ciborium, 100% silver and signed by Chevron is an exclusive piece, very antique and in amazing condition. Dimensions: Foots Width: 5.9 in / 15 cm. Cups Width: 4.33 in / 11 cm.
