Spectacular antique solid-silver ciborium by Léon Kaeppler made in France circa 1890, in very good condition. This is a beautiful liturgical item, with an imposing presence and more than one hundred years old. At the ciboriums foot, cup and lid we can see the hallmark of antique French silver and the goldmisths mark, Léon Kaeppler. The foot is lobed in shape and is divided in sections containing engraved and embossed schematic flowers. This part is connected to the stem by a group of symmetrical lanceolate leaves which create a beautiful transition. The stem is adorned with a node, decorated with the same flowers as the foot. The subcup shows the same ornamentation and so does the lid. This feature creates a gorgeous uniform look, very stylish. Over the gilt-silver cup, the lid is crowned by a delicate cross that acts as a handle. At the lids edge we can see a small dent, shown in the photos, barely visible and which in no way interferes with the impressive general look of the piece. This spectacular antique solid-silver ciborium by Léon Kaeppler will stand out on an altar, during the celebration of mass. Dimensions: Foots Width: 5.4 in / 13.8 cm. Cups Width: 4.13 in / 10.5 cm. Height: 11 in / 28 cm. Weight: 500 g.
